Senior Consultant Physician / Cardiologist
Dr Michael Lim is an internationally renown interventional cardiologist with extensive experience in computerized tomography (CT) imaging of the heart arteries. He was also sent for a fellowship in Angiography and Interventional Radiology/Cardiology in the USA. He also has a Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from National University of Singapore and completed his UK internal medicine examinations and was made a Member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
He is currently the Medical Director of the Royal Healthcare Heart, Stroke and Cancer Centre, Board Member of the Chapter of Cardiology of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore, Vice-Chairman of the World Association of Chinese Doctors, Vice-Chairman of the World Association of Chinese Cardiologists, International Advisor of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology, Founding Editor of Heart Asia (British Medical Journals) and Visiting Consultant to Singapore National Heart Centre, Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Parkway East Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Mount Alvernia Hospital. He was appointed as Honorary President of the Asian Society of Cardiology in December 2018 and was appointed Honorary Professor and Senior Medical Advisor of the Peking University Heart Center in 2008.
He has served as President of Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology , Dean of the College of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, Board Member of the World Heart Federation (WHF) , President of the Singapore Cardiac Society, Advisory Board Member of the Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology, Editor-in-Chief of Heart Asia ( a journal of the prestigious British Medical Journals) and Visiting Adjunct Professor of Min Hang Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai.
He is also one of 10 global recipients and the only physician in South East Asia who was awarded “THE WORLD OUTSTANDING CHINESE DOCTOR AWARD – THE FOK YING TUNG PRIZE”, the highest recognition given to medical doctors of Chinese ethnicity , by the World Association of Chinese Doctors.
